What is yoni steaming?

There are many names giving to this ancient and indigenous healing tool that has been in practice for thousand of years worldwide. Some countries call it ‘baños’ or ‘vaporacion’. Today in the United States, it can be known as vaginal steaming, perineum steaming or womb steaming. All names are basically the same method. Some practice dry steaming with heated herbs yet no water. The method Ive learned, teach and practice is with wet steaming or with an herbal tea.

The method

  • choose the herbs that your body calls to or ask a steaming specialist which herbs to help with your current vaginal or womb symptom.

  • measure out about three tablespoons of herbs (fresh or dry) and add freshly boiled, clean water.

  • allow the herbs and water to steep for 5-20 minutes, add more freshly boiled water and the tea is ready for steaming

  • I prefer to use a crock pot (on low) to create a continuous steam for 20 minutes

  • you will be steaming your vaginal/uterus/womb, remove all clothing from the waist down

  • wear a long skirt

  • its helpful to have a large natural fiber blanket for double coverage

  • place your steaming tea on the ground to squat over or in the steaming sauna or stool

  • if you are squatting prepare pillows or rolled up blankets for comfort level

  • beginners steam for 10-15 minutes on low heat and regular practitioners can steam for up to 30 minutes with a crock pot or heavier steam

  • relax and enjoy the warmness that is activating your womb to cleanse and heal
